•  Hello from our STEAM Staff!

  • Jill Luoma-OverstreetMs. Jill Luoma-Overstreet

Role: STEAM Coordinator & Curriculum Integrator

Started at Anoka High School: 2021

Why STEAM? We seem to really lose our love for learning in high school...I'd say that STEAM is the perfect space to fight that narrative. We need more environments that make us curious about the world around us and spaces that inspire and spark our imagination. We need to create more opportunities for our students (and ourselves!) to fail and learn from it, and to simply have fun and PLAY. That's what creative problem solving is all about.

Other Roles: Volleyball coach, Speech coach, STEAM Student Leadership Team advisor

Inspired By: Innovation, curiosity, my own imagination— but most importantly, the imagination of others!

Favorite Unhealthy Snack: Mott's fruit snacks. I'll eat a whole box in one sitting if you give me the chance.
