Andover High School is an official Jefferson Awards Leadership School. We are part of a national movement to strengthen our school's culture of volunteerism and develop the leadership skills of our students through service. Andover students serve as role models for other schools while helping to pass the tradition of volunteer service to future generations.Over the past forty years many extraordinary Americans have received the annual national awards, but the most outstanding winners are the thousands of local “Unsung Heroes” – ordinary people, doing extraordinary things, who are honored for their contributions.
As a Jefferson Awards Service Leadership School, we will serve as a role model for other schools around the state and the country to emulate. Each school’s staff leadership and student service leaders are helping pass the tradition of volunteer service to future generations, while promoting a culture of volunteerism, youth ethics and leadership.
One Andover student will be chosen each month to recieve the Jefferson Award. As part of this honor, recipients will have their photo taken, and it will be displayed in the front of the school.
