ART CLUB
Posted by Bree Nieland on 10/15/2014Art Club meets every Thursday after school from 2:30- 4:00pm.Art Club is open to all students who are interested in art and art-making! No previous art experience or talent required. The activities are determined by the members, but usually include the following.~A large mural for the fall Homecoming celebration.
~Smaller community service projects, like a swim team mural or painting toy cars for charity.
~Jewelry projects of clay and glass.
~Empty Bowls Project. By November we make ceramic bowls for the local Empty Bowls project. Students learn to use the potter’s wheels to make bowls and glaze them for the charity event in the spring. Empty Bowls is a fundraiser event where the community is invited for an evening of food and fun. Attendees make a donation and then may choose whatever ceramic bowl they like, with the funds going to the local food shelf.
Meetings are Thursdays after school until 4pm (you can get a pass to Husky House if you need to take the Activity Bus home). It is $5.00 to join, and you can come as you are available depending on other sports and activities, as the club runs year round.
