8th grade band is an exciting year for band members at Oak View Middle School. Band rehearses every day for 45 minutes. With this extra time, the group progresses very quickly and band selections become more and more exciting each year. Band members are exposed to jazz band, marching band as well as honor band opportunities.

Keeping with tradition, 8th grade band members participate in the annual Anoka Halloween parade. This tradition began when Oak View first opened in 1996

8th graders at Oak View Middle School are eligible to audition for the Anoka-Hennepin District Middle School Honor Band held each year in February. This select group of musicians are the top musicians from each middle school in the district.

Upon completing 8th grade at Oak View, most students will attend Andover High School. More information about the band program at Andover High can be found at www.andoverbands.org

Oak View Middle School hosts Memorial Day Assembly each year to remember and honor members of our armed forces.
