Anoka Middle School for the Arts named Magnet Schools of America School of Excellence
(01/23/2025) Anoka Middle School for the Arts (AMSA) has been named a 2025 Magnet Schools of America (MSA) School of Excellence. MSA national merit awards are given to magnet schools that demonstrate a commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation and diversity efforts, and strong parent and community involvement.

It's more than just free meals! Apply for educational benefits for the 2024-25 school year
(07/26/2024) All Anoka-Hennepin families are encouraged to apply for the educational benefits program for the 2024-25 school year. A new application must be submitted each school year. The enrollment window for the 2024-25 school year begins Aug. 1, 2024.

Middle school programming is under review, your feedback needed
(05/10/2024) The District is conducting a review of middle school programming this spring and summer, a process last undertaken when the district shifted from a semester-model to a trimester-model at the middle school level in 2009.

Eighth grade honor band teams up for memorable performance
(04/02/2025) Each spring, band instructors at all six of Anoka-Hennepin’s middle schools select a group of students to participate in the eighth grade honor band. Students spend about five hours on a Saturday rehearsing with a guest conductor, followed by a performance.

Life-saving AED update headed to schools
(03/07/2025) When a person suffers Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), response time to provide care is critical to survival and recovery. Anoka-Hennepin Schools are equipped with Automated External Defibrillators - or AED’s - that provide a level of preparedness to respond to emergencies and save lives.

(03/06/2025) For more than 20 years, middle school students in Anoka-Hennepin have jammed out in a mid-year concert featuring talented musicians and a festive evening at the Middle School Jazz Festival.
