Hello and Welcome to Mr. Heit's 7th Grade Life Science Class!

I am Aaron Heit and I will be your child’s 7th grade science teacher this year. This is my seventh year teaching and second in the Anoka-Hennepin School District. I’m a University of Wisconsin (B.S. Biology) and University of Mississippi (M.A. Education) graduate. I grew up in Blaine and now live in Coon Rapids with my wife, one year old son, and two cats. 

Throughout my professional career I have moved to different places to pursue my passion of teaching middle school science! I taught 6th and 8th grade science in the North Panola School District in Como, Mississippi for three years; served as an AmeriCorps VISTA at a science education non-profit in Reno, Nevada; served in the Peace Corps in Ethiopia (Afaan Oromo Beekta?); taught 7th grade in Minneapolis; and last year taught 6th grade at Roosevelt Middle School and Jackson Middle school. In my free time I love biking, camping, playing board games, and spending time with my wife and son.

I am excited for the opportunity to learn with your child this year and for being a part of growing their skills in science literacy. Thank you for supporting your student's education! Together we can achieve science success!
