Head Coach:
Eric Bertram: Varsity
I started playing tennis in 10th grade in Rochester, MN where I showed up with high-top basketball shoes and my Grandpa's wooden racquet. Although my first loves were basketball, baseball and football, I fell in love with tennis once I gave it a try and have never looked back. I now play competitively at a very high level across the state and love competing and meeting new people through the sport.
I have been honored and lucky enough to be the head coach for Anoka boys tennis the past 10 seasons and am extremely excited about the upcoming 11th season. I love how tennis allows student athletes to build friendships, learn a sport that can bring joy and excitement for years to come, as well as competitively building toward team goals. I truly love this team and all the amazing student athletes that are a part of the Anoka family. I can't wait to see how the Tornadoes "find a way" this year!
The coaches will hold all players to high standards in their classes, how they treat one another and their opponents, as well as their commitment to the team's goals and expectations. My goal is to build empathy and life-long skills through this sport that will be valuable as students strive for other goals and can use in their future selves. Student athletes will learn the game at a high level and compete at a high level, have fun and make friends.

My brother and I learned to play tennis together in the Anoka Hennepin Community School summer program. We would ride our bikes up to the courts after a hard day working at one of the local farms (Edward F. Fields and Sons). The instructor still gives us a hard time for leaving dirt trails all over the courts. I played high school tennis for Blaine HS, captain senior year. Looking forward to continuing to hone my skills as a tennis instructor and learning from all the other coaches, as well as hopefully passing on my knowledge and love for the game to the student athletes at Anoka.
Clint Seul
Hello Anoka Tennis families, I am Coach Seul. This is my first-year coaching with the tennis program. I am very excited to get out and work with the boys. My passion developed when I was in High School, playing high school team. I also have played many years recreationally. I know that in order for the players to develop, I need to be able to create fun, positive, and informative practices. With that, I am hoping to instill a passion with the players here at Anoka that will last a lifetime. It’s going to be a great season.

I began playing tennis, hitting on a board in South MPLS at age 10. Played for Henry Sibley high school. We have a daughter who graduated from Anoka in 2017 and played for the JV tennis team. Our son is a freshman at Anoka.
I have currently played adult tournaments and leagues for the past 20 years, and feel tennis allows me to remain competitive in my professional life, while working for a team goal.
Tennis helps build character and sportsmanship in one's life, and I hope to be able to help our kids learn those traits as well. I feel I have a keen eye for the technical aspects of playing tennis, with an interest in developing deeper elements of various tennis strategies for players.
