On the very first day of their summer vacation, 11 Blaine High School sophomores, juniors, and seniors headed down to Costa Rica for a 10-day tour of the beautiful Spanish-speaking country in Central America. Students got to practice their Spanish while meeting new people from Costa Rica, Colorado and California. Spanish teachers Keira Moore and Ali Chapman planned the trip through EF tours. They toured this amazing country in a comfortable coach bus, all the while learning from an outstanding tour guide about the history, culture, and environment of Costa Rica.
The group went zip-lining over the rain forest canopy and kayaking next to the Arenal volcano. They got to see countless monkeys, anteaters, iguanas and crocodiles, and learned what a Jesus Christ Lizard is (google it!!).These are pictures of Spanish students in Costa Rica at the ocean in Jaco on the Pacific coast, and white-water rafting in the Sarapiqui River.
