    Course Description:

    World History is designed to increase knowledge and understanding of the rise and development of human civilization from the first civilizations up to World War I. The course will include a study of significant events, people, issues, and perspectives from Africa, Asia, Europe, Central/South America, and the Middle East. Students will also develop historical thinking skills by interpreting primary and secondary historical sources. Ultimately, our study of World History will help us connect the past to the present to be a more active citizen of our world.

    Class expectations:
    1. Respect everyone and everything in our classroom
    2. Be prepared - bring all materials (paper, textbook, writing utensil, etc.)
    3. Participate in class
    4. Be on time
    5. Do not disrupt the learning of others
    6. Have fun learning :)

    Hall passes will be given out sparingly.
    Discipline will be handled in the classroom and occasionally by school administration.

    Required Materials:
    ● Textbook= History Alive! World Connections
    ○ Hard copies are available in the classroom and may be checked out if needed to do homework to bring your grade up. Talk to your teacher about this.
    ○ Student Online Access to text will be provided. Please talk with your teacher if consistent access to the internet is an issue for you.
    ● 1 subject notebook for World History
    ● folder/binder for documents connected to class
