Course Description
Students will study U.S. History by following a timeline of events that have brought our nation to what it is today. The United States History course is three trimesters. Over the course of the year, we will cover the following areas: Establishing an American Republic, Immigration and Industrialism and its impact, Expanding America's Global Influence: Imperialism & WW1 and lastly, The Roaring Twenties and the Great Depression, WWII & Postwar America, The Cold War, The Civil Rights Movement and lastly The Making of Modern America.
Class expectations:
1. Respect everyone and everything in our classroom
2. Be prepared - bring all materials (paper, textbook, writing utensil, etc.)
3. Participate in class
4. Be on time
5. Do not disrupt the learning of others
6. Have fun learning :)
Hall passes will be given out sparingly.
Discipline will be handled in the classroom and occasionally by school administration.
Classroom plagiarism policy is consistent with ISD #11, which can be found in the student handbook.
Required Materials:
● Textbook= History Alive!
○ Hard copies are available in the classroom and may be checked out if needed to do homework to bring your grade up. Talk to your teacher about this.
○ Student Online Access to text will be provided. Please talk with your teacher if consistent access to the internet is an issue for you.
● 1 subject notebook for U.S. History
● folder/binder for documents connected to class
