    Small Gas Engine 1
    Intended Audience: Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12

    Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit

    Major Outcomes:

    • Maintenance and repair of four-stroke small gas engines like those on lawn mowers and snow blowers

    • Principles of engine operation with related mathematical principals

    Projects, Activities, etc.: Disassembly, overhaul and reassemble small engine. Student’s should bring their own engine or one can be provided.

    Instructional Activities: Lab work and classroom study

    Intended Audience: Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12

    Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit

    Major Outcomes:

    • Maintenance and repair of internal combustion engines.

    • Principles of engine operation with related mathematical principals

    Projects, Activities, etc.: Disassemble, overhaul, and reassemble larger two- and four-stroke engines [students must bring a larger internal combustion engine to class]

    Instructional Activities: Lab work and classroom study

     
    AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY-CONSUMER

    Intended Audience: Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12

    Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit

    Major Outcomes:

    • Purchase and operation of Automobile

    • Maintenance and repair

    • Common tools

    Projects, Activities, etc.: Performance of basic maintenance on Automobiles

    Instructional Activities: Hands-on activities with emphasis on mathematics as it relates to Automobiles

     

    AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY 1

    Intended Audience: Grades 10, 11 and 12

    Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit

    Major Outcomes:

    • Theory of Operation

    • Servicing of automotive engines and related systems

    Projects, Activities, etc.: Work on personal vehicle as time and space allowed

    Instructional Activities: Theory of operation and related mathematics through hands-on activities

     

    AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY 2

    Prerequisite/Selection Process: Automotive Technology 1

    Intended Audience: Grades 10, 11 and 12

    Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit

    Major Outcomes:

    • Theory of Operation

    • Brake Service

    • Driveline Service

    • Suspension Service

    Projects, Activities, etc.: Work on personal vehicle as time and space allowed

    Instructional Activities: Theory of operation and related mathematics through hands-on activities

     

    AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY 3

    Prerequisite/Selection Process: Automotive Technology 2

    Intended Audience: Grades 10, 11 and 12

    Credit: One trimester = 0.5 credit

    • Electrical Systems

    • Automotive Computers

    • Brakes – A.B.S.

    Projects, Activities, etc.: Work on personal vehicle as time and space allowed

    Instructional Activities: Theory of operation and related mathematics through hands-on activities
