Welcome 2015-2016 Freshman

 

This week you will be registering for classes for 2015-2016 at BHS.  First we here in ART would like to welcome you to Blaine High School.  We know your first year of high school is stressful.  So why not take a break in your day by taking an ART class.  We can teach you how to be a Potter, Sculptor, or a Painter.  We can also teach you how to draw or to make jewelry.  Look through the registration guide and pick out your favorite medium or take a risk.  

 

Remember that you need 1 credit in Art to graduate.  That means two Art Classes at .5 a credit each.

Good Morning Students

 

Registration Materials have been distributed.  Why not take an another Art Class?  We have many to choose from.  Think about how much fun learning a new skill in art will be.  It could be Ceramics, Computer, Drawing, Painting, Sculpture or Video.  Not to mention we have a relatively NEW class called Jewelry and Craft Design.  So why not fill one of those elective spots or an alternate with Art.

Happy Holidays Art Students!!!!!

 

As we go into the Holidays we would like to wish everyone a Safe and Happy Art filled Holiday!!!!   While you are sharing time and possibly art related gifts with your family this holiday take some time to reflect on all you have learned.  We know that Art can be an outlet for many so during this break start a new project, painting, sketch, book, or finish an old one.  

 

After break we will be registering for classes for 2015-2016.   We would love to see all of you back in art next year.   We can make some great things in 2015-2016.  If you are interested in seeing what the other classes in the Department are like, take a look at the pages above.  These will help you with registration since the course description, and a few examples are listed on each page.

 

Again have a Happy and Restful Holiday and we will see you in 2015!!!!!

Welcome Tri 2 Art Students

 

Please remember that you will need a pen or a pencil for class.  The Art Department will provide all other supplies.  

 

Reminder:

 

There is no Food or Drink allowed in the Art Department, EXCEPT Water in closed containers.

Please leave your Backpack and your Hats in your locker.  These are not to be seen in class. 

Cellphones are a distraction.  Making Art while texting, playing games, or watching videos will not be good art.  

 

Please be aware that we will not be asking you to put the phone away, but if YOU miss a demo, or activity because YOU were making a choice to text, watch videos, or play games.  We reserve the right, not to give you the demo, activity or explain the assignment again. In this instance your choice would be to: put the phone away and pay attention, or ask a friend for help.

 

We look forward to facilitating your  creativity.

 

BHS ART 

We have finally found a Student willing to be the Student Advisor.  Art Club will be run by Rebecca Hughes.

Right now they are meeting every other week on Thursday's.  Stop by room 238 on Thursday's to see what they are up to.

 

 

 

Please make sure you always bring something to write with to all of our classes.  Pen or pencil will do.

Students interested in the Senior Art Show please sign up on the Art Office Door ASAP.
