Welcome to my classroom website

As a social studies teacher, I am continually exploring and trying to learn more about what makes the world such an amazing place- the cultures, languages, people, belief systems and worldviews that make our planet the amazing place that it is. It is my hope to inspire each and every student to develop this same sense of curiosity and interest in the world from their own communities and beyond.

My teaching career began in Seattle Washington and then took me to Memphis Tennessee until I decided to move back to my home state of Minnesota before the 2018-2019 school year and now to Coon Rapids High School. Through all of these experiences, I continue to challenge my students to think critically about their world, challenge themselves and each other, and learn from experiences in and out of the classroom.

In my spare time I try to get out and explore the natural world with friends and family as much as possible. My wife Kate and our dog Valerie spend a lot of time hiking, camping, fishing, and exploring the abundant nature that Minnesota has to offer.
