-
We are ready to safely welcome our learners back to class! Anoka-Hennepin Community Education programs will operate in alignment with Anoka-Hennepin Schools, following health and safety recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to protect the health and safety of staff, learners and the community.
Registration for after-school and evening activities.
Health and safety in community education programsIn-person safety protocols for community education programs include:
- Controlled entry points and traffic patterns to reduce bottlenecking and maintain social distancing.
- Enhanced disinfection and cleaning: Anoka-Hennepin’s professional maintenance employees will coordinate enhanced disinfection and cleaning of high-touch areas such as restrooms and door handles.
- Class/capacity management: Classrooms will limit capacity based on state health guidance. The goal will be to create as much space as possible for each student. There will be minimal sharing of high touch materials.
- Registration limits the number of participants who can register based on the size of the space to ensure social distancing recommendations can be achieved.
- All participants must be pre-registered. No walk-ins or additional visitors will be allowed to stay.
- Tables and chairs are arranged in classrooms to ensure social distancing between participants. We ask that you do not move them. If an extra chair is needed, for participants who choose to sit next to each other, please ask.
- Social distancing: Maintaining a six foot distance is the most effective safety measure. Schools and school district facilities will include visible reminders and encourage a culture that supports social distancing.
- Face coverings: Face coverings are required by all who enter district schools or facilities following the direction from the state.
- Participants must wear face coverings at all times.
- Please review Anoka-Hennepin Schools COVID-19 website for addition face covering policies.
- If a participant arrives and is not willing to comply with the face covering policy, they may be denied access to school facilities.
- There are medical exemptions. View health and safety FAQs on the school district return to school website for details.
It is the goal of the district to safely operate schools, promoting a culture of health and safety amongst students/participants and staff using all the guidance from MDH and the CDC.
