The school became Hoover Elementary - Biomedical, Health Sciences and Engineering at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year.

Work was done to create STEM-H units (district curriculum and standards-aligned) focused on the human body systems and its anatomy (What is it?), physiology (What does it do?), homeostasis (How does it stay healthy?) and diseases (What happens when it is not healthy?). Through a hands-on, inquiry-based approach, students and staff are involved in exploring and learning about the human body systems and the biomedical and technological innovations that keep us healthy. Students and staff participate in onsite and offsite field experiences, build relationships with community partners and engage in engineering challenges that connect back to our focus of Biomedical, Health Sciences and Engineering.
