Support at Hoover - Title I information

  • The following information is a jointly developed agreement that explains how family members and teachers will work together to make sure all of our students get the support they need to reach and exceed grade level standards. The families and staff at Hoover Elementary annually discuss, review, and revise this information. Your student’s needs, progress, and achievements will be shared at fall and winter conferences. For more information about this agreement, contact your student’s teacher.

    Title I School Improvement Strategies

Hoover Elementary School is a Title I Schoolwide building that receives funding to support our students’ academic needs. We have selected these goals to help all students:

    • Use student reading data to drive main instruction, make adjustments, and form interventions.
    • Use student math data to drive main instruction, make adjustments, and form interventions.
    • Continuation of social-emotional learning curriculum and supports.
    • Professional development for staff to implement strategies to effectively manage behavior while prioritizing student connections.

Progress on these school efforts will be reported to families in the principal newsletter mid-school year.

School supports for success (in the classroom)

    Hoover Elementary School staff will:

    • Analyze student assessment data to create trimester goals in connection with our building goals.
    • Meet weekly and include administration, SPED, ML, and support staff as needed to focus on student learning.
    • Meet regularly to report and analyze progress.

Family supports for success (at home)

Families can do the following to support your student:

    • Read out loud to your child. Model smooth, fluent reading. Discuss books as a family. Make reading fun!
    • Communicate regularly with your child’s teacher.
    • Get involved by volunteering, attending family events, and become a member of the Parent Group/PAC.
