It's more than just free meals! Apply for educational benefits for the 2024-25 school year
(07/26/2024) All Anoka-Hennepin families are encouraged to apply for the educational benefits program for the 2024-25 school year. A new application must be submitted each school year. The enrollment window for the 2024-25 school year begins Aug. 1, 2024.

Parent Education Series: District to host three Parent Engage 360 events in 2023-24

Anoka-Hennepin is hosting three Parent Engage 360 community and parent education events during the 2023-24 school year. These events aim to provide resources for parents and guardians to support their students and others in the community.

Mississippi Elementary third grade students receive free dictionaries from community partners
(01/13/2023) Each year, the Anoka-Hennepin Educational Foundation (AHEF) along with community partners Anoka, Coon Rapids and the Blaine/Ham Lake Rotary Clubs, the Ramsey and Dayton Lions Clubs, and Connexus Energy, donate dictionaries to every third grade student in the district.

Mississippi Elementary School second grade students pitch slime businesses
(12/21/2022) Students in Shawna Feist’s second grade classroom at Mississippi Elementary School recently completed a four-week-long project where students created a slime business.

Proposed boundaries presented at Sept. 15 community meeting
(09/15/2022) Anoka-Hennepin Schools presented proposed attendance area maps and collected community feedback at a community meeting held Sept. 15 at Coon Rapids High School. No attendance boundary changes are proposed for schools in the Coon Rapids cluster.

Rachel Grillo named Mississippi Elementary principal
(08/18/2022) Rachel Grillo has been selected for the position of principal of Mississippi Elementary School. The position became available when Nate Manaen was named the director of student services for the school district earlier in July.

Parent/guardian input meeting for new principal set for Thursday, Aug. 11
(08/01/2022) The process for choosing a new principal for Mississippi Elementary is underway and any and all interested parents/guardians are invited to provide input. This position is available following the announcement of Nate Manaen as the district’s director of student services.

Life lessons, lasting impressions: Peer connections engage learning in middle school health classes
(12/23/2024) Every month, high school students from Anoka and Coon Rapids high schools link up to support sixth-graders across the district, thanks to a 25-plus year partnership with the University of Minnesota Extension’s 4-H program.

Northdale Middle School WEB leaders engage in winter fun with Eisenhower Elementary students
(12/20/2024) Eighth grade WEB leaders at Northdale Middle School (NMS) welcomed kindergarten and first grade students from Eisenhower Elementary School on Dec. 16 and 17 for a fun-filled hour of winter activities. Students teamed up to create winter arts and crafts, including a winter wonderland scene and ornaments.
