Monroe Elementary named Magnet Schools of America School of Distinction
(01/23/2025) Monroe Elementary School: Mathematics, Science and Children’s Engineering has been named a 2025 Magnet Schools of America (MSA) School of Distinction. Monroe integrates Project Lead the Way Launch curriculum which allows students to explore engineering, computer programming and science concepts in a fun, engaging and collaborative way.

Monroe Elementary parent drop-off/pick-up modifications
In an effort to improve student safety and operations on area roadways, Anoka-Hennepin Schools is proposing modifications to morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up locations at Monroe Elementary School.

It's more than just free meals! Apply for educational benefits for the 2024-25 school year
(07/26/2024) All Anoka-Hennepin families are encouraged to apply for the educational benefits program for the 2024-25 school year. A new application must be submitted each school year. The enrollment window for the 2024-25 school year begins Aug. 1, 2024.

Historic night: Inaugural boys volleyball season gets underway at all five district high schools
(04/03/2025) Monday, March 31, 2025, was a historic night at all five Anoka-Hennepin high schools. All schools hosted their first boys’ volleyball matches as a sanctioned Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) co-curricular activity.

Summer school serves as an opportunity to provide academic consistency for students who need extra support

Eighth grade honor band teams up for memorable performance
(04/02/2025) Each spring, band instructors at all six of Anoka-Hennepin’s middle schools select a group of students to participate in the eighth grade honor band. Students spend about five hours on a Saturday rehearsing with a guest conductor, followed by a performance.
